October 22, 1992 As you probably know, Vail Associates, Inc., is self insured for its Group Health Plan and for its’ Workers Compensation Program. Therefore, we have a keen interest and concern regarding medical costs and effective treatments and therapies. Two years ago, after research regarding the Feldenkrais program offered by Margaret McIntyre, we authorized coverage for Feldenkrais under both out Group Health Plan and Workers Compensation Program. The response expressed by our employees has been very favourable. We continue to be impressed by the positive results seen with our injured employees covered under the Workers Compensation Program which primarily involves musculoskeletal injuries. Several employees made dramatic improvements after just a few Feldenkrais sessions where previous traditional therapies were no longer making any significant progress. This reduced medical costs, disability periods, and gave the injured worker a renewed optimism regarding their potential for full recovery. We feel that Margaret McIntyre has been very responsible with her involvement in our employees’ care. She does not “overtreat” and promotes a sense of responsibility in the employees for their own wellness. Unfortunately, she does not usually see our employees until all other modalities have failed or have stagnated and would welcome the opportunity to become involved in their treatment sooner.
